Job summary

John Anthony Wine & Spirits in downtown Napa seeks a Hospitality & Sales Associate to deliver world‑class service, grow direct‑to‑consumer sales, and share the story behind our vineyard‑driven wines.

You will work in a luxury setting, guide guests through our portfolio from Oak Knoll to Calistoga, and collaborate with a close team to ensure seamless tastings, events, and memberships. Flexibility for evenings and weekends; physical duties include standing long shifts and light lifting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Experience in luxury hospitality, wine sales, or fine dining preferred.
• Strong interest in Napa Valley terroir and estate-driven wines.
• Availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Stand for 6–8 hours, lift up to 40 lbs, bend and walk.

Responsibilities

• Provide gracious, knowledgeable service reflecting the luxury brand.
• Meet or exceed monthly sales and wine club goals.
• Use POS and CRM to manage sales, memberships, guest data.
• Share wine insights to educate guests clearly.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of John Anthony wines and AVAs.

We are seeking a dedicated and polished Hospitality & Sales Associate to join our team in downtown Napa. This individual will play a critical role in delivering world-class service to our guests, growing direct-to-consumer sales, and sharing the story behind our vineyard-driven wines.

John Anthony Vineyards produces single vineyard wines from Oak Knoll District, Carneros, Coombsville and Calistoga ranging in price from $25 to $500 per bottle. Each wine features the unique microclimate and terroir of the small plot vineyards that John Anthony Truchard planted and has farmed over the past 20 years. These are exquisite wines of singular character that can be enjoyed today and appreciated for decades to come. John Anthony Vineyards offers tastings at its downtown Napa Tasting Lounge as well as Private tastings, Private Dining and Events at our residence and vineyard properties in Napa.

• Provide a seamless guest experience—whether in the Tasting Lounge or vineyard setting

Sales & Performance

• Tailor the guest journey with thoughtful wine recommendations based on guest interests
• Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales and wine club goals
• Utilize our POS and CRM systems to manage sales, memberships, and guest data
• Accurately capture guest contact information and follow up as needed
• Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to pivot with grace

Wine & Brand Education

• Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of:
  • John Anthony Vineyards wines and AVAs
  • The brand’s farming-first philosophy and estate vineyards
  • The broader John Anthony Wine & Spirits portfolio
• Share wine insights in a way that is both educational and accessible

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Prior experience in luxury hospitality, wine sales, or fine dining preferred
• Strong interest in wine education, Napa Valley terroir, and estate-driven wines
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Physical ability to:
  • Stand for 6–8 hours per shift
  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Perform regular bending, lifting, and walking
