Job summary

Triton College is seeking a Program Specialist - HIA to support the Hospitality Industry Administration program. The position is hourly and grant funded, offering up to 28 hours per week at $25.00 per hour.

The role involves maintaining facilities, inventory control, safety, marketing materials, and assisting students with advising and scheduling, while collaborating with faculty and staff. Strong computer skills and the ability to work independently are valued.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and culinary-related certification.
• Certificate or Associate’s Degree in Culinary/Baking & Pastry is preferred.
• Food Safety Manager’s license is required; BASSET license is a plus.
• Two years in hospitality, inventory, retail, or food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain department labs, offices, storage, cleaning, organizing, and restocking daily.
• Inventory control: ordering, receiving, and maintaining pars.
• Identify and address safety concerns.
• Clean and maintain professional food service equipment; coordinate with maintenance.
• Prepare marketing materials and update departmental web pages.
• Support program events: recruitment, community events, and campus outlets.
• General admin duties: calls, emails, filing, scheduling, quotes, meetings, minutes.
• Support student success through advising and registration, and connect to campus resources.
• Other duties as assigned.
