Job summary

AC Hotel New York Times Square is seeking a diligent Maintenance Technician I to support daily operations of a high-traffic hotel in Manhattan. You will perform preventative maintenance, basic repairs, safety checks, and room upkeep to ensure guest comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include HVAC, plumbing, electrical tasks, safety system checks, and rapid response to emergencies, while upholding brand standards and guest service excellence.

Qualifications

• Have FSD certification or able to complete company-sponsored certification within 6–8 months.
• Able to take company-sponsored Pool Operator class and pass the exam.
• Currently Building Maintenance Technician I for 1 year or 1–2 years in related field.
• General knowledge of hand tools and maintenance procedures.
• Able to work well with guests and a team in a guest-focused environment.
• Strong time management and ability to deliver quality work within parameters.
• Customer service skills to anticipate guest needs and respond to requests.
• Action oriented and able to deliver outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Wear brand-standard uniform, identification, required footwear, and protective equipment.
• Adhere to safety and security guidelines for equipment, guest safety, and chemical handling.
• Change HVAC filters and perform minor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Ensure fire life safety systems are functional.
• Perform a wide variety of preventative maintenance duties.
• Inspect and clean rooms after work to meet company standards.
• Pick trash throughout the property.
• Ensure maintenance equipment is functioning and maintained.
• Respond quickly to maintenance emergencies.
• Paint walls, ceilings, doors and window trim as needed.
• Ensure guest laundry washers, dryers, vending machines, and common areas are cleaned twice daily.
