Job summary

NELSON Worldwide, LLC is seeking an Interior Designer II to join our Hospitality Practice. The Interior Designer II is responsible for basic interior design assignments and working with the project team to assist overall effort of completing various project phases.

Interior Designer II supports design development and drawing production with strong Revit and presentation skills for hospitality projects such as hotels, resorts, spas, and entertainment venues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited University.
• 5+ years’ experience; or equivalent in Interior Design/Architecture.
• Previous experience working on Public projects with States, Counties, or Cities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys as required; Field surveys must be easy to read and thorough.
• Assist in preparation of drawings for all design phases.
• Update design documents as needed for all levels of designers.
• Develop solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
• Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
• Build models for client/project team review.
• Provide research and compile data during design phases.
• Prepare and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc.
• Participate in design charrettes and project team meetings.
• Participate in client meetings as directed.
• Participate in the construction process as requested (site visits, punch lists, submittals, shop drawing review, etc.)
• Attend "lunch and learn" events and other vendor presentations on an ongoing basis.
• Complete timesheet daily and expense reports accurately and on‑time
• Embrace diverse workforce and inclusive environment
• Assist in programming phases as directed
• Assist with schematic phases as directed (sketching, input of sketches, modification of schematic test fit plans)
• Possess basic knowledge of project budget and schedules and adhere to set parameters.
