Job summary

Valor is seeking a friendly host/hostess to greet guests, seat them, and coordinate the dining room for a smooth, high‑quality experience. You will guide guests to tables, present menus, and assist servers to maintain flow and timing.

Qualifications

• You are the first point of contact for guests.
• You’ll greet them, make them feel welcome, answer questions.
• Making sure guests feel comfortable, valued, and attended to is the core of the role.
• Handling special requests (e.g., seating for kids, accessibility), dealing with waiting lists, helping resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, escort to table, and present menus.
• Ensure entry doors are clean, inviting, and welcoming.
• Make sure menus are clean and up-to-date with specials.
• Inform servers of location and assigned station.
• Plan seating chart and manage reservations for the evening.
• Coordinate with phone reservationists for accurate counts.
• Ensure private parties are staffed and organized for the evening.
• Coordinate with kitchen to verify item availability.
• Maintain constant communication with servers, managers, and kitchen to sync timing.
• Greet guests as they depart to ensure satisfaction.
• Note any problems and escalate to a manager.
