Job summary

The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV seeks an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function for the resort and affiliated entities. You will oversee month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of records while partnering with Treasury and FP&A.

The role requires at least five years in accounting with supervisory experience, GAAP knowledge, and multi-entity exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Five+ years progressive accounting experience with supervisory duties.
• Experience managing full accounting cycle and month-end close.
• Multi-entity accounting experience with intercompany transactions.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience as primary contact during external audits.
• Leadership and communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review GAAP- and USALI-aligned financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger, chart of accounts, and reconciliations.
• Lead accounting management team including supervisors.
• Review journal entries, accruals, and intercompany allocations.
• Coordinate audits and lender/regulatory examinations.
• Oversee fixed assets, capex tracking, and CIP capitalization.
• Manage payroll accounting and related liabilities.
• Oversee tax filings, including sales, use, and occupancy taxes.
• Partner with Treasury on reconciliations, cash reporting, and forecasting.
• Collaborate with FP&A on budget-to-actual reporting and forecasts.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and efficiency.
