Job summary

Block by Block seeks a Hospitality Ambassador to maintain a friendly, safe, and clean street environment. You will be visible in the zone, greet people, provide directions, and perform litter cleanup with a rolling cart. The role requires outdoor work in all weather, good English communication, and an 18+ age minimum.

Shifts run Wed–Fri and Sun 10:30am–7:00pm, plus Sat 1:30pm–10:00pm. Weekly pay, pay advances, and benefits are offered, including uniforms and PTO.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must have the physical capacity to walk and (may include riding a 3-wheeled bike cart) continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide high visibility at street level and carry out tasks to improve the zone's experience and appearance.
• Greet pedestrians and visitors and provide directions/city information.
• Litter removal and debris cleanup along streets and sidewalks.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces.
• Monitor for safety concerns and report to Safety Ambassadors; complete basic daily task reports in English.

Pay Range: $21.00 to $21.00 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Pay Day!)

Shift/Schedule:

• Wed. - Fri. + Sun. from 10:30am to 7:00pm
• Sat. from 1:30pm to 10:00pm

Valid Driver's License PREFERRED

What You'll Be Doing

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of tasks to improve the overall experience and appearance of the zone they are assigned to. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc. Pull weeds.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
