Job summary

The Sebastian Vail is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support accounts payable in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You will process invoices, manage approvals, and ensure accurate coding to respective accounts, while maintaining vendor relationships.

Responsibilities include vendor payments, month-end close support, AP documentation, and collaboration with internal departments to resolve inquiries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
• Prior experience in accounts payable, accounting, or bookkeeping preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, verify approvals, and ensure accurate coding to the appropriate accounts and departments
• Prepare and execute vendor payments in accordance with company policies and payment schedules
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and supporting documentation
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding invoice status, payment inquiries, and issue resolution
• Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting support
• Review purchase orders, receipts, and invoices for accuracy and compliance with internal procedures
• Support audit requests by providing documentation and account details as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and strengthen controls
