Job summary

The Sebastian Vail is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support accounts payable operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This role ensures timely, accurate processing of invoices, maintains strong vendor relationships, and supports the overall financial health of the resort.

Responsibilities include processing invoices, verifying approvals, executing payments, reconciling statements, and assisting with month-end close.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in accounts payable, accounting, or bookkeeping preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, verify approvals, and ensure accurate coding to the appropriate accounts and departments.
• Prepare and execute vendor payments in accordance with company policies and payment schedules.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding invoice status, payment inquiries, and issue resolution.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting support.
• Review purchase orders, receipts, and invoices for accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.
• Support audit requests by providing documentation and account details as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and strengthen controls.
