Job summary

Sound Physicians is seeking a Night Physician Assistant at our Bridgeton, Missouri facility to join a nocturnist team. This part-time role requires overnight coverage (7p–7a) with about 7 night shifts per month in a closed ICU setting, supported by in-house specialists.

You will work with two nocturnist physicians, manage admissions, respond to rapid responses and stroke alerts, and provide care to a very ill population with high acuity. Full benefits start on day one; tail coverage is provided.

Qualifications

• Board certification required.
• Inpatient hospital medicine rotations during training for new-grad PA may be required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Join Our Bridgeton, Missouri Team as a Night Physician Assistant – A Role Designed for You

We are hiring for a Part‑Time Night APP position. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration

The team includes 28 physicians and 4 APPs at SSM Health DePaul, supported by three clinical performance nurses, one hospital coordinator, and one program manager.

Scheduling

Part‑time nocturnist: 7p‑7a coverage with an expectation of approximately 7 night shifts per month. Block schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with two nocturnist physicians on the night shift, managing admissions and responding to rapid responses and stroke alerts.
• Handle highly complex cases in a closed ICU with no procedures or codes required; rely on 24/7 in‑house specialty support.
• Provide care to a very ill population, ensuring high acuity care with strong support.

Qualifications

• Board certification required.
• Prior hospitalist inpatient experience strongly preferred or hospital‑based experience as a Physician Assistant.
• If a new‑grad PA, inpatient rotations during training in hospital medicine are required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
