Job summary

CSPNJ is seeking a Per Diem Hospital Wellness Mentor to support adults at the wellness center located on the grounds of Trenton Psychiatric Hospital. The role involves delivering individual and group peer support, socialization, and recreational activities.

Under supervision of the Hospital Center Manager, you will coordinate with hospital staff, assist with day-to-day wellness center operations, and support community relations. Lived experience and trauma-informed approaches are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or high school diploma with relevant mental health experience
• Experience in inpatient hospitalization is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of wellness and mental health system resources
• Strong emotional intelligence and ability to establish respectful connections
• Willingness to share recovery experiences and engage others respectfully
• Ability to build contacts with individuals receiving services and their families
• Proficiency with MS Office and general computing
• Bilingual skills are a plus
• Valid NJ Driver’s License with clean driving record
• Lived Experience in dealing with mental health/substance use is valued

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group peer support and socialization activities at the wellness center
