Job summary

UMC Health System is seeking a Superintendent of Utilities to oversee daily HVAC and utilities operations, maintenance, and repairs. You will manage quotes for work and materials, plan long-range maintenance, and coordinate with contractors to install or renovate mechanical systems.

The role requires strong leadership, independent judgment, and excellent communication. You will work with Facilities and leadership teams and may supervise staff across shifts to ensure reliable campus utilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 7+ years of operation and maintenance experience with large HVAC and utility systems.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and direct operation, maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, water, and gas systems.
• Plan long-range maintenance programs and coordinate major shutdowns with minimal disruption.
• Coordinate with private contractors for installation or renovation of mechanical systems.
• Train workers in procedures and use of tools; ensure quality and client satisfaction.
