Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) seeks a Power Plan Operator to maintain continuous operation of heating, cooling, steam, gas, and water treatment systems, including cogeneration and emergency backups. The role requires adherence to safety standards and active maintenance of fire safety equipment.

The ideal candidate will have HVAC/industrial experience, the ability to read blueprints, and knowledge of energy management systems and life-safety codes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree or completion of an accredited trade course in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, industrial technology or related field preferred.
• Four years of experience in industrial, electrical, mechanical and/or HVAC required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuity of service for heating, cooling, steam, gas, water treatment and general utilities for hospital facilities.
• Enforce safety regulations and maintain fire and safety equipment.
