University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) seeks a Power Plan Operator to maintain continuous operation of heating, cooling, steam, gas, and water treatment systems, including cogeneration and emergency backups. The role requires adherence to safety standards and active maintenance of fire safety equipment.
The ideal candidate will have HVAC/industrial experience, the ability to read blueprints, and knowledge of energy management systems and life-safety codes.
The Power Plan Operator maintains continuity of service for the heating, cooling, steam, gas, water treatment, general utilities, cogeneration systems, emergency back up systems, equipment and machinery necessary for the functioning of Hospital and allied property. Observes and enforces safety regulations and practices and maintains safety and fire equipment.

Four years of experience in industrial, electrical, mechanical and/or HVAC required.
HVAC Certified Technician preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or completion of an accredited trade course in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, industrial technology or related field preferred.
