Job summary

Harris Health System is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC I) to manage daily clerical operations on a nursing unit. You will work closely with the charge nurse and manager to facilitate unit activities and ensure patient needs are met.

The role requires knowledge of medical terminology, strong communication and organizational skills, and proficiency with basic office software. A high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification are required or as dictated by the unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support certification from AHA or Red Cross, or as required by unit/service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily clerical operations on nursing unit(s).
• Support unit operations with charge nurse/manager to ensure patient needs are met.
• Ensure compliance with select environmental, process safety and regulator standards.
• Maintain unit supplies and equipment; act as hub for unit activity and communication.
• Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, communication, organization, and computer use.
