Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital in Tampa, FL is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist PRN to help patients improve speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities within a collaborative rehab team.

You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, document progress, educate families, and coordinate with physicians and care teams; a Master’s in SLP, Florida license, CCC-SLP, and BLS are required; prior healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology is required.
• Florida license as Speech Language Pathologist required.
• CCC-SLP certification required within 6 months of start date.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient’s communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities using structured assessments.
• Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans to support communication and safe swallowing.
• Document evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries.
• Educate patients and families on goals, safety, home strategies, and progress.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, rehab staff and care managers for coordinated care.
