Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a Weekend Security Officer for 16 hours to protect patients, visitors and staff. You will enforce security regulations, patrol assigned areas, and respond to incidents with professional discretion and good customer service.

Responsibilities include investigating complaints, preparing detailed reports, coordinating with law enforcement when necessary, and providing support during medical emergencies and special events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice preferred.
• 3–5 years experience in hospital, security/police, emergency medical or customer services preferred.
• Class D Driver's License (State License) required.

Responsibilities

• Identify unsafe conditions and improperly secured areas to prevent theft, injuries or damages.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Investigate thefts, shortages and other complaints; notify law enforcement as needed; detain suspects as appropriate.
• Prepare and submit written reports; log incidents; keep Supervisor informed.
• Operate dispatch system and coordinate responses to incidents.
• Assist in medical emergencies and restraining patients when authorized.
• Participate in committees and work groups as needed.
