Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Boston seeks an evening Security Officer to protect patients, visitors and staff. 40 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday, onsite, in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities include patrols, enforcing security regulations, reporting hazards, investigating incidents, restraint of patients when authorized, dispatcher duties, and supporting emergency responses; strong customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree Criminal Justice preferred. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.
• Licenses: Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License].
• Experience: 3-5 years in hospital, security/police, emergency medical or customer services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas and identify unsafe conditions to prevent theft, injuries, or damages.
• Investigate thefts, incidents, and potential criminal misconduct; detain when appropriate; notify authorities.
• Prepare written reports; maintain logs; coordinate with Supervisor and law enforcement when needed.
• Serve as Dispatcher using security systems; respond to incidents and requests for assistance.
• Assist workplace and domestic victims; respond to medical emergencies; restrain patients when authorized.
• Participate in departmental committees and task forces as needed.
