Job summary

Mercy Hospital Bakersfield, part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks a Security Officer NB to maintain safety by patrolling, deterring crime, and investigating incidents. You will monitor electronic surveillance and hospital emergency systems, dispatch staff via radio, respond to calls, and protect staff, patients and visitors in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Required: High School diploma or GED, CA Security Guard license, CPR/BLS within 90 days, CA driver’s license; healthcare security experience

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• CA Security Guard license required.
• AHA Basic Life Support CPR within 90 days.
• Driver's license valid in California.

Responsibilities

• Protect staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance promptly.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and hospital codes.
• Reports HIPAA breaches; investigates security breaches and writes incident reports.
• Uses appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers.
• Keeps the organization’s mission, vision and values at the forefront.
