Job summary

Luminis Health seeks a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and property across the Medical Center campus. The role covers hazard surveillance, incident reporting and coordination with emergency services to maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring CCTV, conducting safety screenings, managing access, and supporting crisis interventions while upholding hospital policies and regulatory requirements. A strong customer service orientation is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior health-care safety/security experience preferred but not required.
• Must pass criminal background check and obtain Maryland guard credentials.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hazard surveillance rounds to protect patients, staff and property.
• Monitor CCTV and log events; report and escalate as needed.
• Conduct safety screening for weapons and contraband using devices.
• Respond to emergencies, assist with patient safety and crisis intervention.
• Prepare written reports and maintain logs; coordinate with leadership.
• Escort and assist staff, visitors and patients; support security operations.
