Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a vigilant Security Officer at Burlington Hospital to safeguard buildings, grounds, and patients while providing excellent customer service and support. You will conduct weapon screening, monitor alarms and cameras, and respond to emergencies to protect lives and property.

Responsibilities include patrols, access control, incident reporting, and coordinating with leadership and law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years security experience preferred.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to stay levelheaded and respond quickly in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties associated with assigned posts including walking and mobile security rounds; stationary posts; traffic control and special assignments.
• Monitor doors, surveillance cameras, and alarms as needed.
• Utilize health system technology for visitor control and incident reporting; operate weapon screening systems as required.
• Provide directions and escorts to visitors, vendors, patients, and staff; verify ID badges and access passes.
• Respond to emergency situations such as CODE Security and CODE RED alerts; act as first level responder.
• Communicate effectively with division team members, supervisors, and law enforcement.
