Job summary

Virtua Health seeks a vigilant Security Officer to safeguard buildings, grounds and visitors across its campuses. You will perform patrols, operate weapon screening, monitor alarms and cameras, and assist staff with directions while upholding policy and ensuring a safe, compassionate environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of security experience, strong communication, and calmness under pressure.

Qualifications

• 2 years security experience preferred.
• Ability to stay levelheaded and respond quickly in stressful situations.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform duties at assigned posts including walking, patrols, stationary posts, traffic control and special assignments.
• Monitor doors, surveillance cameras, alarms, and use of EVOLV weapon screening system; conduct investigations and incident reports.
• Communicate effectively to team members, supervisors, Nursing Supervisor, Health System security teams and law enforcement.
• Escort visitors, vendors, patients and staff as needed and verify staff IDs; manage access control and issue badges.
• Respond to emergencies such as CODE Security and CODE RED; act as first-level operations responder and manage hazardous spills.
