Job summary

GBMC HealthCare seeks a dedicated Security Officer to ensure the safety of patients, staff and visitors. The role involves patrolling, monitoring surveillance, controlling access, and responding to emergencies in a dynamic hospital environment.

Candidates should have prior security or related experience, be able to work unscheduled hours, and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure. Training and compliance requirements are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must read, understand, implement GBMC Security policies and procedures.
• Must complete post-hire CPR/RQI Stop the Bleed and de-escalation training within two weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the facility is provided with high quality security services to protect people and property.
• Report safety concerns, security breaches and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing.
• Build, improve and maintain effective relationships with patients, visitors and staff.
• Answer questions and assist patients, staff and visitors.
• Answer phones or greet patients, staff and visitors in a professional, welcoming manner.
