Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Security Officer to staff posts, patrol facilities, and investigate incidents to deter loss and protect people and property. The role includes responding to emergencies, assisting visitors, and managing access control across the medical center.

Responsibilities include directing traffic, escorting individuals, and submitting timely security reports. A HS/GED and NYS licensure are preferred, with experience in security or law enforcement encouraged.

Qualifications

• HS/GED or equivalent required.
• Experience in security or law enforcement preferred.
• Current NYS Security Officer licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Staff assigned posts and patrol designated areas to protect patients, staff and visitors.
• Respond to emergencies and requests for service as assigned.
• Control access by checking IDs, screening visitors and passes.
• Direct traffic and ensure ambulance bays are clear of unauthorized vehicles.
• Provide escorts within the medical center and report security activities.
