Job summary

Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR is seeking a Security Officer II for full-time coverage in the Safety and Security Department. The role focuses on preventing crimes, investigating incidents, educating staff, managing conflicts, and coordinating with police as needed.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, CPR/BLS, firearm certification, and at least 8 years of law enforcement experience. Preferred 1 year supervisory experience in healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or Associate Degree in law enforcement, social science, physiology, or related fields preferred.
• BLS/CPR required upon hire or within 30 days of hire.
• Firearm Certification required upon hire and annually.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in law enforcement.
• Letter of recommendation from SCA mental health.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and manage conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Prevent crimes, investigate incidents, educate employees, and deal with combative persons.
• Detain persons for the police department and perform service tasks.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and assist in de-escalation.
• Support safety procedures within the hospital environment.
