Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred Technical or Associate Degree in law enforcement, social science, physiology, or related fields.
• BLS/CPR required within 30 days of hire.
• Firearm Certification required on hire and annually.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in law enforcement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and manage conflicts.
• Knowledge of safety, security, and patient confidentiality laws.
• Strong knowledge of emergency procedures and de-escalation techniques.
• Preferred 1 year supervisory experience in healthcare security.

Responsibilities

• Prevent crimes, investigate incidents, educate employees, deal with combative persons, detain individuals for police department, and perform service tasks.
• Maintain safety and security within the Emergency Department.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and coordinate with security and hospital staff.
• Operate within the Jefferson Regional Safety and Security Department.
