Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Security Officer I to protect patients, visitors and staff. You will investigate incidents, conduct patrols, monitor alarms and assist with safety and security procedures across hospital facilities.

The role requires high school education, valid driver’s license and completion of mandatory safety certifications within defined timelines. Prior experience in healthcare security and FOID card are preferred.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with staff, patients, visitors and external agencies.
• Ability to write clear, accurate incident reports meeting department standards.
• Capability to conduct patrols and respond to incidents.
• Willingness to complete required trainings and certifications within stated timelines.

Responsabilités

• Investigates and quells hospital incidents and disturbances to ensure safety of patients, staff and visitors.
• Completes descriptive reports for supervisory personnel.
• Notifies police and fire departments as required and prepares incident reports.
• Performs routine perimeter and internal patrols to protect people and property.
• Monitors alarm and security video systems and responds to security events as needed.
• Directs traffic during incidents to maintain emergency access.
• Provides escorts for staff to vehicles and assists with safety procedures.
