Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Security Officer I to protect patients, visitors and staff, inspect for hazards, and enforce security protocols across the hospital facilities in the Warrenville area. The role collaborates with clinical staff and law enforcement when needed, providing escorts and rapid responses to emergencies.

Ideal candidates will hold a high-school diploma or GED and maintain certifications such as Basic Life Support, with additional credentials in healthcare security.

Qualifications

• Education: High-school diploma or GED.
• Maintains Basic Life Support certification within 9 months of hire.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Investigates/quells hospital incidents and disturbances to maintain safety.
• Completes descriptive reports for supervisory personnel.
• Notifies city officials and prepares reports for supervisors.
• Performs patrols of hospital buildings and grounds to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Monitors access control, alarms, and security video system.
