Qualifications

• Interpersonal and communication abilities to interact with a variety of individuals including staff, patients and visitors.
• Ability to write clear, concise incident reports meeting department standards.
• Capable of maintaining composure and professionalism under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and quell hospital incidents and disturbances to protect patients, staff and visitors.
• Notifies city officials (police and fire) and prepares descriptive supervisory reports.
• Conducts regular perimeter and interior patrols to secure buildings and grounds.
• Investigates incidents of hazardous conditions, theft, crime, or other security concerns.
• Monitors access control, alarms and video surveillance systems.
• Controls traffic to ensure emergency vehicle access and patient/visitor safety.
• Provides escorts for staff to vehicles and assists with escorts as needed.
• Responds to emergency codes following department guidelines.
• Enforces hospital policies and maintains a professional service image.
• Performs contraband searches and monitors situations for safety.
