Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a Security Officer at multiple levels to protect staff, patients, visitors and assets on hospital campuses and off-site properties. The role involves responding to emergencies, managing security incidents, and coordinating with law enforcement as needed.

Roles progress from Level 1 to Level 3, with increasing responsibilities and required certifications. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes opportunities for professional development

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Illinois drivers license Level I (within 90 days).
• Essentials of Aggression Management (EOAM) certification; Taser Certification Level II and III (IAHSS).
• Experience in security or public service environments.

Responsibilities

• Serves as physical deterrent and visible presence to maintain safety and security.
• Responds quickly to highly stressful critical and emergency situations.
• Assists in Incident Command, duress alarms, conflict situations, and handling hazardous materials/waste spills.
