Responsibilities

• LEVEL 1: Serve as physical deterrent and visible presence to maintain safety and security.
• Detects, corrects, reports, investigates, manages, and mitigates safety and security hazards and violations on hospital campuses and off site properties.
• Responds quickly to highly stressful critical and emergency response situations.
• Assists in Incident Command situations, psychiatric patients evaluations and management, duress alarms, conflict situations, and hazardous materials/waste spills.
• Utilizes reasonable non-deadly force at the minimal amount necessary to establish and maintain control of a subject as related to the level of resistance in accordance with SIH policy and Illinois State Law.
• Monitors and enforces visitor pass procedures.
• Maintains records and accurately prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities and procedures using security management software.
