Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a security professional to ensure safety for patients, visitors, staff, and hospital property. This evening shift position includes patrolling, incident response, and collaboration with medical staff to de-escalate situations.

Responsibilities include rounds, searches, CPR with AED, parking enforcement and supporting helicopter operations. Requires a high school diploma and security experience; multiple certifications are required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Two years of related security experience preferred.
• Direct security experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the facility and provides information, assistance and guidance to patients, visitors and staff.
• Conducts internal and external rounds to ensure safety of the facility and occupants.
• Responds to incidents and documents all activities.
• De-escalates conflicts using AVADE techniques as directed by medical staff.
• Performs patient watch to prevent elopement or injury.
• Assists with restraints and notifies local law enforcement when needed.
• Handles custody disputes and domestic disturbances on campus.
• Conducts searches of patients and visitors and searches rooms/belongings as required.
• Responds to emergencies and codes; performs CPR with AED and notifies emergency services.
• Monitors parking lots, enforces parking rules and assists with parking control.
• Follows supervisor directions and enforces company policies.
• Assists with helicopter arrivals/departures and handling deceased patients.
• Completes required forms, reports and documents.
• Performs assigned secondary duties and responds to alarms and service calls.
