RWJBarnabas Health in Rahway, NJ seeks a Security Officer to patrol facilities, manage access control, and protect patients, visitors, and staff. Evening shift, hourly pay range $19.73–$23.56, with de-escalation training and SORA licensing expected.

High School Diploma or GED, NJ Driver’s License with transfer, and SORA license required. Preferred: 1 year of customer service or security experience; proficiency with keyboarding and MS Office; strong communication; bilingual skills welcome.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• NJ Driver’s License with eligibility to be covered by RWJBH insurance carrier; out-of-state licenses must be transferred within 60 days.
• SORA license required for security officer position.
• De-escalation training certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patrols and monitor facilities to maintain a secure environment for healthcare operations.
• Provide professional customer service while vigilantly watching for and addressing potential security threats.
• Manage access control systems, perform data entry, and use Microsoft Office for incident reporting and admin tasks.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication abilities with diverse populations.
• Perform weapon screening and enforce facility policies with safety in mind.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in crisis de-escalation using certified techniques.
