Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard patients, visitors and staff at our Urbana, IL campus. You will perform patrols of the hospital, parking areas and grounds, monitor access, and respond to emergencies with calm, professional judgment.

You will identify risks, de-escalate threats, complete incident reports, and ensure adherence to post orders and policies. A valid IL driver’s license, FOID, BLS, CPI and TASER certification are required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois driver’s license or will obtain within 90 days.
• FOID card within 60 days.
• CPI training within 3 months.
• BLS within 30 days.
• TASER certification within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Conduct productive security patrols of hospital, garage and perimeter.
• Identify and mitigate conditions compromising security.
• Report and correct safety and security violations observed during patrols.
• Ensure visitors and staff wear ID badges; de-escalate disruptions.
• Document incidents accurately and preserve crime scenes per policy.
