Job summary

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to join our Security Team. The role focuses on safeguarding employees, patients, visitors, and hospital property, with daytime shifts in a full-time capacity.

The Security Officer will perform patrols, monitor CCTV, respond to emergency codes, and collaborate with staff to maintain a safe, respectful environment in Darby, PA. Experience is preferred, but training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Ability to deal tactfully with co-workers, patients and visitors.
• Perform alone or as a team member in the management of aggressive or violent behavior through non-abusive physical intervention.
• 1-year prior hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
• Recognizes special needs/concerns of populations served and adjusts communication accordingly, i.e., language barrier, diminished hearing, concrete terms, etc.
• Does Patrol Tours
• Monitors Close Circuit TV (CCTV)
• Responds to all Emergency Code alerts
• Other duties as assigned by manager
