Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a security officer for Burlington Hospital. The role focuses on safeguarding buildings, patrolling premises, screening for weapons, and assisting visitors and staff with directions and information.

You will work on the 2nd shift in a part-time, on-site capacity and participate in emergency response and incident reporting. A valid driver’s license and NJ SORA certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years security experience preferred.
• Ability to stay levelheaded and respond quickly in stressful situations.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties at all posts including walking security rounds and traffic control.
• Monitor doors, surveillance cameras, and alarms.
• Use Health System technology to provide visitor control and weapon screening with EVOLV.
• Provide directions and escort visitors, vendors, patients, and staff.
• Verify staff IDs and manage ID badges; respond to maintenance issues.
• Respond to CODE Security and CODE RED alerts; act as first level operations responder.
• Assist with hazardous/chemical spills and use of specialized equipment as required.
