Qualifications

• High school graduate is required.
• Proficiency with computer software.
• Typing and data entry skills.
• Clear speaking voice over a security radio system.
• Ability to dispatch personnel in escalating situations.
• Visual acuity to monitor security screens.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls and requests for service and formulate correct responses.
• Regulate radio traffic by dispatching calls and relaying information.
• Answer questions and give directions to visitors, caregivers and patients.
• Monitor hospital activity on closed circuit television to detect escalations and respond appropriately.
• Implement procedures for emergencies such as fire, disaster, infant abduction, tornado, bomb threat, etc., as indicated in policy.
• Complete appropriate and accurate documentation for dispatch logs, equipment logs, helipad logs, lost and recovered property, patient valuables, occurrence reports, etc.
• Maintain knowledge of operation of access control systems.
• Maintain knowledge of all alarm systems and appropriate responses.
