Job summary

Penn State Health in Lancaster, PA seeks a Community Hospital Registration Associate to advance the revenue cycle by pre-registration and on-site registration across inpatient and outpatient services, including Emergency, Surgery, Radiology, Lab. You will verify insurance and benefits, ensure correct visit billing, and review regulatory requirements for admissions and day care.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, delivering empathetic, high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Six months minimum in a position in a customer service setting required
• Medical terminology and Revenue Cycle experience preferred
• Medical health insurance knowledge preferred
• Medical billing and coding preferred

Responsibilities

• Register patients in departments across the hospital and ensure accurate pre-registration and registration.
• Verify insurance coverage and benefit eligibility for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Review regulatory requirements for admissions, observations, surgical day care visits, ED visits and outpatient services.
• Deliver empathetic, high-quality customer service as the first point of contact at patient arrival.
