Job summary

Piedmont McDuffie Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff, and visitors. The role includes monitoring facilities, de-escalating conflicts, responding to emergencies, and documenting incidents.

You will assist with access control, security patrols, and adherence to hospital policies. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, no experience required though 2 years in security/public safety is preferred, and relevant certifications within 1 year.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required; 2 years of general security or public safety experience preferred.
• DL number (driver license) valid and in state; IAHSS security officer certification within 1 year; pre-employment psychological screening; complete training certifications as directed (Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Piedmont values and excellent customer service to patients, staff and visitors.
• Screen for and interdict weapons entering the facility.
• Maintain security of hospital, buildings and parking areas.
• Perform safety routine and emergency security activities.
• Document incidents and conduct initial investigations.
• Monitor at-risk patients and de-escalate difficult situations.
• Respond to aggression and apply appropriate restraints.
• Document in the medical record and adhere to PHC policies.
• Direct traffic and assist visitors in emergencies.
