Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital seeks a dedicated Security Officer to safeguard patients, staff and visitors. You will respond to emergencies, de-escalate incidents, and document events across the facility, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.

Two years of general security/public safety experience are required along with a valid Georgia driver's license and IAHSS certification within one year. Pre-employment screening is mandatory.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in general security or public safety
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening
• Must pass and maintain training including firearms, Taser, ASP Baton and Mental Health First Aid

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and security for students, employees, visitors, patients and property
• First responder to emergencies within the facility
• De-escalate critical events using sound judgment
• Document incidents and conduct initial investigations
• Monitor at-risk individuals and respond to aggressive behavior
• Direct traffic and assist with directions during emergencies
