Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to conduct routine safety and emergency security activities, de-escalate incidents, and train staff. The role requires monitoring patients at risk, enforcing policies, and maintaining security across hospital facilities.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, 2 years in general security or public safety with firearm duties, and certifications in firearms, taser, baton, and health first aid as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years’ experience in general security or public safety where carrying a firearm is part of the duty is required.
• Certification in firearms, taser, baton, and related trainings required or can be obtained after hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Piedmont values and excellent customer service within Piedmont facilities.
• Screen for and interdict weapons as they enter a facility.
• Maintain security of hospital, professional buildings, and parking areas.
• Oversee routine and emergency security activities as assigned by policy or management.
• Provide training to new and current employees related to security operations.
