Job summary

Endeavor Health, serving Highland Park and surrounding communities, is seeking a Lead Public Safety Officer for the Highland Park Hospital campus. The role aligns security leadership with patient- and staff-centered safety, supervising officers during the evening shift and ensuring rapid, accurate responses to incidents.

You will coordinate shifts, train new Officers, and maintain detailed incident reporting while protecting patients, visitors, and employees.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• Familiarity with basic computer tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served. This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.
• In the absence of the Shift Supervisor coordinates the work of assigned department staff and determines daily work post assignments.
• Assist the Shift Supervisor to trains and orient newly hired Security Officers on his/her shift.
• Monitors Security Officers in performance of their duties and provides on-going direction of activities during the shift. Determines when an incident requires written report, which report form to use and submits to Supervisor, Public Safety. Prepare other written reports as directed.
• Assist Shift Supervisor to coordinate interviews for investigations with employees and law enforcement agencies.
• Briefs oncoming Lead Officer regarding any reports and pertinent information.
• Performs duties of Public Safety Officer
