Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our hospital team.

The role provides therapeutic interventions to improve function for patients of all ages, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, with emphasis on evidence-based practice and patient education. The PTA will support evaluation, treatment implementation, progress monitoring, and discharge planning, while maintaining accurate documentation and adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• PTA license required in state of employment.
• BLS certification required.
• 0–1 year experience in a physical therapy setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapist in evaluating treatment effectiveness and adjust plans as needed.
• Implement interventions focusing on posture, balance, locomotion, strength, endurance, and flexibility.
• Administer treatment methods under supervision, aligning with current PT practices.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate results to supervisor.
• Educate patients on exercises and self-management to promote recovery.
• Tailor approaches to age, development, and cultural background.
• Document patient care clearly, including plans and discharge recommendations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and participate in discharge planning.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain regular attendance.
