Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates preferred.
• 1-3 years of security or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Must meet licensure/certification requirements as listed.

Responsibilities

• Protects patients, visitors and employees by providing escorts, patrolling grounds, and mitigating environment of care safety hazards.
• Deters criminal activity through routine patrols of hospital property including parking lots.
• Enforces policies such as parking regulations, visitation policies, drug enforcement, and tobacco/smoking policy.
• Monitors hospital activity on CCTV and responds to incidents.
• Intervenes in confrontations as appropriate.
• Documents daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Maintains knowledge of emergency procedures and disaster plans.
• Responds to emergencies and hospital alarms.
• Completes mandatory education and maintains certifications.
• Remains on assigned post and ensures post and patrol vehicles are clean.
• Follows policies on attendance, confidentiality, dress code, ID badge, and safety.
• Provides law enforcement services including responding to emergencies, making arrests, investigations, and de-escalation.
• Takes reports of accidents, crimes and suspicious activity.
• Maintains proficiency with equipment including firearms, conducted energy devices, pepper gel, and baton.
