Job summary

Qualifications

• HS diploma and seven years or more job-related experience.
• Experience in operating air handling units, heating systems, cooling systems, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration equipment.
• Experience in performing preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment including filter changes and greasing bearings.

Responsibilities

• Ensures patient comfort and safety by reducing impact of basic service interruptions.
• Ensures staff and visitor comfort & safety.
• Ensures equipment is operating efficiently and safely via building management system (BMS).
• Performs boiler water analysis and treatment.
• Corrects and reports hazardous conditions noted on rounds; monitors boiler pressures and leaks; responds to Code Reds.
• Logs all defective equipment, especially safety-related items.
• Repairs equipment during off shifts.
• Makes routine rounds (nightly) to all equipment rooms and machine spaces.
• Answers calls from facilities dispatcher and responds to alarms.
• Responds to elevator problems.
• Performs preventive maintenance on air handling equipment.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
