Danbury Hospital is seeking a Hospital Plant Services Technician to maintain all operating systems including steam, electricity, air, heat, cooling, and water. You will respond to emergencies and monitor equipment, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The role requires at least seven years in a hospital or industrial setting, strong mechanical aptitude, and experience with AHUs, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration. Evening shift 3:30pm-11:30pm offers a $10k sign-on bonus.

Qualificações

• Must have 7+ years in hospital or industrial environment.
• Experience with air handling units, heating, cooling, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration equipment.
• HS diploma required; license OE-2, or S1, or S2.

Responsabilidades

• Ensures patient comfort and safety by reducing impact of basic service interruptions.
• Ensures staff and visitor comfort & safety.
• Ensures equipment is operating efficiently, and safely by monitoring the building management system and rounding mechanical rooms.
• Performs boiler water analysis and treatment.
• Corrects and reports hazardous conditions noted on rounds; monitors boiler pressures and leaks; responds to Code Reds.
• Reports and logs defective equipment, particularly if related to safety.
• Repairs equipment, including patient items, during off shifts.
• Makes routine rounds (nightly) to all equipment rooms and machine spaces.
• Answers all calls from the facilities dispatcher and responds to all computer alarms.
• Responds to elevator problems.
• Performs preventive maintenance on air handling equipment.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary:

Maintains all Plant Services operating systems to include steam, electricity, air, heat, cooling, water, vacuum, medical gases, etc. Provides emergency alternatives for the above in the event of failures. Responds to any and all Facility issues that may arise anywhere in the hospital.

Responsibilities:

Education:

HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT

Other Information:

Required: Experience working in a hospital or industrial environment. Must have good mechanical aptitude, analytical thinking skills, and at least 7 years of working in a hospital or an industrial environment. Experience in operating air handling units, heating systems, cooling systems, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration equipment. Experience in performing preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment to include filter changes, greasing bearings on pumps and motors etc.

Minimum Experience: High school diploma and seven years or more job-related experience.

License: Required OE-2, or S1, or S2.
