Job summary

Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Indiana, and is currently recruiting for a full-time Pharmacy Technician. The facility operates 7am–7pm on weekdays and 7am–4pm on weekends, with rotating weekends required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Indiana pharmacy technician license or willingness to obtain license/certification.
PTCB certification preferred.
In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
IV experience preferred.
Flexible working schedule.
Strong teamwork and communication.
Customer service oriented.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficient with pharmacy technology and devices.

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
Prepare medication for dispensing, packaging and shipment.
Take inventory, place orders, check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, remove out-of-date items.
Enter medical supply orders in the pharmacy system.
Communicate with patients, clinics, caregivers, and physicians in a professional manner.
Process returned medications for credit or destruction.
Input patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
Maintain compliance with all pharmacy laws and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
