Job summary
Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at Henry County Memorial Hospital located in New Castle, IN, and is currently recruiting for a full-time Pharmacy Technician II, Health Systems Pharmacy. The role supports daily pharmacy operations, including prescription filling, inventory, and patient communication, with a rotating schedule and every-other-weekend work requirement.
Qualifications include a high school degree or equivalent, Indiana license or willingness to obtain, and PTCB certification
Qualifications
- Indiana pharmacy technician license or certification, or willingness to obtain.
- PTCB certification preferred.
- In-patient hospital pharmacy experience or IV experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assists pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
- Prepares medication for dispensing, packaging and shipment.
- Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out of date items from the inventory.
- Enters medical supply orders in pharmacy system.
- Communicates with customers (patients, clinics, care-givers, physicians) in a professional manner.
- Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
