Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at Henry County Memorial Hospital located in New Castle, IN, and is currently recruiting for a full-time Pharmacy Technician II, Health Systems Pharmacy. The role supports daily pharmacy operations, including prescription filling, inventory, and patient communication, with a rotating schedule and every-other-weekend work requirement.

Qualifications include a high school degree or equivalent, Indiana license or willingness to obtain, and PTCB certification

• Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.

Job description

Job Summary

Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at Henry County Memorial Hospital located in New Castle Indiana and we are currently recruiting for a full time Pharmacy Technician. The Pharmacy is open 7am - 7pm on weekdays and 7am - 4pm on weekends. Technicians will work a rotating schedule and are required to work every other weekend.

The Technician II, Health Systems Pharmacy provides assistance to the Pharmacist in the daily operations of the pharmacy. Activities include the preparation of and filling of prescriptions, taking pharmacy inventory and processing product returns. The Technician II, Health Systems Pharmacy ensures that all orders are reviewed by a registered pharmacist and records all activity in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines. This job frequently communicates with customers to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment of all orders.

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.

• Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
• Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent years of experience preferred.
• Indiana pharmacy technician license or pharmacy technician in training certification or willingness to obtain.
• National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) preferred.
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• IV experience preferred.
• Flexibility in working schedule.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks.
• Ability to manage several tasks at the same time; Ability to focus on tasks; Ability to evaluate operating conditions; Ability to exercise sound judgment.

• May require vendor credentialing.
