Job summary

Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and outpatient medication preparation and dispensing. You will assist in maintaining Pyxis inventories, prepare IVs aseptically, and help ensure accurate billing and documentation.

The role reports to the Pharmacy Manager and requires 2 years hospital pharmacy experience with sterile compounding. Shift is Mon-Fri 8:00–4:30, no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• 1 year sterile compounding experience.
• Certification: CPhT and RPT upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers and staff per Jefferson values.
• Prepares drug orders from Physicians for pharmacist review.
• Replenishes Pyxis machines and monitors refrigerator temperatures.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals.
• Dispenses medications and restocks inventory; documents waste.
• Handles billing/crediting to ensure proper medication charges.
• Picks up physician orders and processes them as required.
• Maintains clean work areas and conducts light housekeeping.
• Replenishes code carts and documents restocks.
• Uses aseptic techniques to prepare IVs and transports them.
• Maintains competencies for IV lab, Pyxis, McKesson, CAPS.
• Performs inspections and expiry checks of storage.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
